Monumenta – Paris
For its fourth edition in 2011, Monumenta has invited Anish Kapoor, an Indian-born British artist, to challenge the 13,500 m2 of the Grand Palais. He translated his vision on Leviathan, an ancient mythic monster, into a huge PVC-artwork, where visitors can also visit the inside. Each year Monumenta invites an international artist to create an artwork designed for one purpose only. To fill the space of Paris’ Grand Palais. With the Grand Palais, Monumenta (an artistic foundation) has an exhibition room of exceptional scale with 13,500m² and a height of 35m.
Anish Kapoor is well-known for these kind of big creations.
